MODOC — taking anti-doping controls paperless, worldwide.

Sport / regulated  ·  25,000+ sessions/yr  ·  My role: CTO & product architect

The problem

Doping control is field work under legal scrutiny. Every sample collection is a procedural document — athlete rights, chain of custody, strict timing — and for decades it was captured on multi-part carbon paper forms. A single form error can invalidate a test, and paper moves at courier speed: days or weeks between a control in the field and usable data at headquarters.

The solution

MODOC digitalizes the doping control process end to end — from test planning through sample collection in the field to labs and results management. Doping control officers work on tablets, online or offline; every step is validated as it happens, athletes sign on the device, and the paperwork writes itself. The system enforces the procedure, so a session can’t be closed incomplete.

The result

MODOC is used by international federations and national anti-doping organizations worldwide, processing 25,000+ testing sessions a year. Session data reaches headquarters the moment a control closes — complete, compliant and auditable — and form errors have effectively disappeared.
